Heidi Kummli

Heidi’s beadwork is an expression of herself, and her feelings for our Mother Earth and the creatures upon her. Through researching Native American beadwork techniques and trial and error, her work has continually evolved. Heidi started working with beads in 1975 and remembers making  jewelry even as a young child. She currently lives on 12 acres west of Boulder, Colorado with her husband Gregg, and their son Benjamin age 16. Their home is totally off the grid. The sun and a back up generator is all they need to power their home. Heidi has won numerous design awards throughout her career and co authored the book “The Art of Bead Embroidery “with good friend Sherry Serafini.

Heidi hopes that through her work she can share the beauty that surrounds her and give the wearer a since of oneness with the world the earth and creatures upon her.

Over the years Heidi has mastered Bead Embroidery techniques and will be sharing these with you with two classes on Sat and Sun morning. The filigree pendant class Saturday morning will start you off with simple embroidery stitches and filling in a filigree finding. Sundays class will be a bit more challenging. You will be learning bead embroidery stitches that the student will than glue to a hammered cuff bracelet with stunning results. Both classes will be taught with a kit so one can finish at home if not in class. Heidi will also be selling her personal stash of cabochons and goodies she has collected over the years along with signed copies of her book and a few finished pieces. Come by just to say hi I look forward in meeting you
